| *FREE* WILSON STAFF FYBRID W/ Purchase of a Di9 iron set! The Di9 replaces the successful Di7 iron. The first thing most golfers will notice is that the graphite-shafted version has a UST shaft with a tapered body and a relatively slim-looking tip diameter of .450 of an inch. The Di7Æs graphite shaft had a .500 tip. Some consumers insisted on describing the shaft with a name from WilsonÆs past û ôfat shaft,ö although Wilson long ago abandoned that name and now refers to its shafts as products on wide-tip technology. The steel-shafted version of the Di9 also has a .450 tip. This steel-shafted option has a True Temper TX steel shaft that weighs 99 grams, down from 105 grams. Shaft flex options are L, R and S in steel and L and R in graphite. The Di9 also adds a urethane insert in the back cavity. More weight has been moved toward the toe, creating what Wilson says is a larger sweet spot. The idea behind this club is more forgiveness and more distance on off-center hits. Wilson has worked hard to create consistency by building a 12-yard carry gap between the irons. The Di9 irons have a clean look that should appeal to most golfers. The leading edge is reminiscent of old Wilson Staff forged irons from the companyÆs glory days. |
